Mumbai: Cricket icon and entrepreneur MS Dhoni has invested in House of Biryan (HOB), a chef-led, tech-enabled cloud kitchen brand that’s reimagining how the world experiences India’s most loved dish—biryani. This strategic partnership marks a major milestone for the fast-growing food startup, as it accelerates plans to take biryani global.
Founded in 2022 by Mohammed K. Bhol and Chef Mikhail Shahani, House of Biryan has expanded rapidly from a single kitchen to over 20 outlets across Mumbai, Delhi, and Dubai. In just three years, the brand has served millions of bowls—each created with the core belief that biryani deserves a place on global menus alongside pizza, burgers, and burritos.
At the heart of HOB’s offering is ‘Meri Wali Biryani’ – a unique build-your-own concept that empowers customers to personalise their biryani bowl by choosing spice levels, ingredients, and flavour profiles. The experience is powered by a robust cloud-kitchen model and a proprietary tech stack, ensuring fast, fresh, and tailored meals every time.
MS Dhoni, speaking on his investment, said, “I’ve always believed in backing teams with strong vision, disciplined execution, and a deep connection to their roots. House of Biryan has brought that vision to life, and I’m happy to be part of their journey as they are ready to take this beloved Indian classic from kitchens to hearts worldwide.”
With Dhoni’s backing, House of Biryan now sets its sights on international expansion, with launches planned across Australia, Japan, the UK, and North America. The brand aims to scale to 120–150 kitchens globally and achieve a revenue target of ₹450–550 crore over the next three years.
Mohammed Bhol, Co-Founder & CEO, added, “Welcoming MS Dhoni to the HOB family isn’t just about fame – it stands for clarity under pressure and consistency at scale – exactly what we’re building: precision on the plate, every single time. Together, we’re building not just a brand – we’re reshaping how the world sees biryani.”
As cloud kitchens and delivery-first dining continue to reshape the global food industry, House of Biryan is positioning itself at the forefront with a model built for the modern consumer—offering personalisation, consistency, and soulful flavour at scale.
Because in their words, “Comfort food shouldn’t be generic. It should be yours.”
