Mumbai: NDTV has announced the appointment of Koreel Lahiri as its new Chief of Strategy and Innovation, strengthening the network’s leadership as it accelerates its digital-first transformation. Lahiri brings over 25 years of experience across Asia’s content and capital markets, blending strategic investment expertise with a deep understanding of media evolution.
Lahiri’s career spans financial news leadership roles at Bloomberg TV India and CNBC-TV18, followed by corporate strategy and investment stints at The Times Group. Most recently, he served as Investment Director – Asia at MDIF, where he led regional investments and strategic growth initiatives.
Over the years, he has overseen more than $250 million in investments, raised Asia-focused micro funds, and helped drive 2x revenue and 3x valuation growth across a portfolio of content-forward and technology-driven companies. His domain expertise spans media, creator platforms, edtech, civic tech, and SaaS, with a strong focus on Gen Z and Gen Alpha engagement.
Beyond capital allocation, Lahiri has played a central role in shaping business expansion through mergers and acquisitions, product innovation, and regional scaling. He has advised digital-first leaders such as InMobi (Glance) and YourStory, and contributes to global forums including the Google News Startups Lab and Columbia University.
An alumnus of the Indian School of Business (ISB), with certifications in private equity and AI fundamentals, Lahiri brings a unique blend of financial rigour and creative thinking. A communicator at heart, he is also a runner, drummer, and writer who frequently speaks on the intersection of media, markets, and innovation.

Rahul Kanwal, CEO & Editor-in-Chief, NDTV, said, “As NDTV expands into new frontiers — from digital platforms and creator ecosystems to global business experiences — we are focused on bringing in leaders who blend editorial depth with strategic vision. Koreel’s background in both capital markets and content innovation makes him uniquely positioned to shape NDTV’s next phase of growth.”
