New Delhi: Nippon Paint, Asia Pacific’s No. 1 paint company by revenue, has announced the launch of its new n-SHIELD Paint Protection Film (PPF) in India. With this innovation, the company is making a bold entry into the automotive surface protection segment, aiming to expand and organize the largely fragmented PPF market.
Under the n-SHIELD brand, Nippon Paint will offer a full portfolio of paint protection films and other detailing solutions across India and global markets. This product line brings together four years of R&D and leverages Nippon Paint’s leadership in the paint industry to deliver cutting-edge film technology.
Highlighting its ambitions, Sharad Malhotra, Director of Nippon Paint India, said, “At Nippon Paint, when we decided to enter films, we leveraged our paint experience to develop the best film products. Our films cover all categories in the market, not just the premium. And we plan to ultimately manufacture these products in India, in line with our Make in India philosophy, mirroring the government’s efforts to bring international manufacturing to India.”
The launch also marked the beginning of a new brand association with the India Champions cricket team, led by cricket icon Yuvraj Singh. This partnership symbolizes shared values of performance, durability, and protection—on and off the field.

With “Forever Young” as the brand theme, n-SHIELD’s positioning draws on the timeless appeal of cricketing legends and the promise of long-term protection for vehicles.

The n-SHIELD range includes gloss, matte, and coloured films, along with ceramic coatings and detailing products for complete car care. These films offer enhanced UV resistance, gloss retention, and protection from chips and debris. Nippon Paint also offers a global e-warranty, precision application tools, and advanced cutting software to ensure seamless protection and finish.
India becomes the second launch market for n-SHIELD after Thailand. The brand is also rolling out headlamp films with OEM endorsements and exploring partnerships with car dealers, detailing centres, and franchise-owned n-SHIELD studios to strengthen consumer engagement.
