Mumbai: Audio series platform Pocket FM has announced the appointment of Vasu Sharma, former scientist at Meta’s Facebook AI Research (FAIR), as its Head of AI, reinforcing the company’s ambition to build an advanced, AI-led global storytelling ecosystem.
In his new role, Vasu will report directly to Prateek Dixit, Co-Founder, Pocket FM, and will lead the company’s AI research and applied innovation initiatives across narrative generation, production intelligence, and large-scale localisation. He will also spearhead foundation model development and creator-first AI innovation as Pocket FM accelerates its vision of becoming the world’s most advanced AI entertainment studio.
Vasu brings deep expertise from his tenure at Meta AI, where he contributed to major multimodal and large language model programmes, including Llama, Chameleon, MaVIL, and several next-generation audio-video foundation models. An accomplished researcher, he has authored over 90 research papers published across premier AI conferences such as NeurIPS, CVPR, ACL, EMNLP, and ICLR, with his work collectively receiving more than 10,000 citations. His background in long-context reasoning, narrative intelligence, and advanced audio-video modelling positions him strongly to scale Pocket FM’s AI storytelling capabilities.

As part of his mandate, Vasu will advance Pocket FM’s proprietary AI CoPilot and Pocket LLMs, which currently support story ideation, drafting, plot design, editing, emotional toning, and multilingual adaptation for the platform’s global creator community. He will play a critical role in developing new fiction-native models, scaling AI-assisted production workflows, and strengthening creator-first tools—while preserving Pocket FM’s human-first creative ethos.
