Mumbai: &PrivéHD’s brings its newest premiere, Brigsby Bear, featuring James Pope, a not so young boy, who takes on a journey to revive his life-line to the outside world. Directed by Dave McCary, Brigsby Bear, will expose you to the nuanced elements of fine cinema that will help you truly feel the other side of innocent desires. The creative feature, airing on Saturday November 10 at 1pm and 9pm, stars Kyle Mooney, Mark Hamill, Greg Kinnear, Matt Walsh, Michaela Watkins, Jorge Lendeborg Jr. and Ryan Simpkins.
Childhood is when one feels formidable, when anything is possible, and when the sky is truly the limit. It is also the time when entertainment helps open doors to the widest avenues and aspects of daily life. Brigsby Bear is a heartwarmingly funny story of James Pope (Kyle Mooney) who is borderline captured in a bunker by his parents. Like any other person, James’ room is filled with posters and figurines except it is all just about Brigsby Bear, an educational television show that is his only connection to the outside world. Things take a turn for him when the show abruptly ends, and he sets out on a journey and makes it his single purpose to recreate the show that he could never finish watching.
The film has several odd yet fresh perspectives which makes the audience question many of James’ actions – be it being too old to be obsessed with a bear or his strange exchange with his own parents. But as they always say, “the show must go on,” and that is what James portrays in this dramedy. A profoundly uplifting film, Brigsby Bear will leave you cheering for a boy who just wants to complete his favorite show.
