New Delhi: Republic Media Network, founded by Arnab Goswami, has named Parimal Dutta as its new Chief Revenue Officer, marking a key leadership move in its commercial operations.
Dutta steps into the role shortly after the departure of Ajay Bedi, who exited the organisation about two weeks ago. During his tenure, Bedi was responsible for driving revenue strategy, strengthening advertiser partnerships, and scaling branded content initiatives across the network’s English television and digital businesses.
According to sources, Dutta’s immediate mandate will be centred on the television business, with a specific focus on strengthening monetisation and advertiser engagement for Republic’s broadcast platforms. His responsibilities are not expected to extend to digital operations at this stage.
Dutta brings over two decades of experience spanning television and print media, with a strong track record in revenue leadership roles across some of India’s largest media organisations.
He most recently served as National Revenue Head at Network18 Media & Investments, where he managed revenue across multiple platforms including television, digital and print for nearly two years.
Prior to that, he was National Sales Head at TV Today Network, overseeing national sales strategy and advertiser relationships.
A significant part of his career was spent at NDTV, where he worked for over a decade. During his time there, he progressed through the ranks from Region Head to Vice President and later Senior Vice President, handling large-scale revenue operations.
His career also includes a stint as Region Head at Bloomberg, along with earlier roles such as Senior Account Director at CNBC, where he managed key accounts and advertiser relationships.
Dutta began his career in business development with Star India and The Times of India, laying the groundwork for his expertise in media sales and revenue growth.
The appointment comes at a time when broadcasters are increasingly recalibrating their revenue strategies amid evolving advertiser demands and shifting media consumption patterns. By bringing in an experienced revenue leader with deep cross-platform expertise, Republic Media Network appears to be reinforcing its focus on strengthening its television business while navigating a competitive news media landscape.
Dutta’s appointment is expected to play a key role in driving commercial momentum for the network’s broadcast operations in the months ahead.
