New Delhi: Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has announced the appointment of Saumitra P. Srivastava as its new Director (Marketing), marking a significant leadership transition at India’s largest oil and gas company.
With a career spanning over three decades at IOC, Srivastava brings deep expertise in downstream operations, marketing, and corporate strategy. Prior to this role, he served as Executive Director (Corporate Strategy), where he was instrumental in shaping the company’s long-term business roadmap and growth initiatives.
A civil engineering graduate from IIT Roorkee and an Executive MBA from SP Jain Institute of Management and Research, Srivastava began his journey at IOC in the LPG business, where he spent his formative years before moving into a series of leadership positions across sales and marketing functions.
Known for his collaborative and result-oriented leadership style, Srivastava has led several transformative initiatives that have modernised IOC’s retail and marketing operations. Among his notable contributions are the Dhruva retail transformation programme and the rollout of structured non-fuel convenience stores, both designed to elevate customer experience and diversify the company’s retail offerings. He has also championed numerous technology-driven and digitalisation projects aimed at improving operational efficiency and customer engagement.
As Director (Marketing), Srivastava will now be responsible for driving IOC’s nationwide marketing network—one of the largest in the country—and steering its strategy toward sustained market leadership and enhanced customer service.
According to the company, Srivastava’s vision for the Marketing Division centers on building a more agile, efficient, and technologically advanced ecosystem, while accelerating IOC’s efforts in sustainability and the transition to future-ready fuels.
“Mr. Srivastava is an accomplished executive with a proven record of driving business growth, increasing profitability, and fostering customer satisfaction,” IOC said in a statement. “His leadership will be key to guiding the organisation through the evolving energy landscape and ensuring continued excellence in customer service.”
