Bengaluru: Biocon Group has announced the transition of Seema Ahuja into a pivotal new role as Senior Vice President and Head of Communications & Brand, Chairperson’s Office, Biocon Group. Formerly the Global Head of Corporate Brand & Communications at Biocon Biologics, Seema now assumes a more strategic communications mandate within the Group.
In her new role, Seema will be responsible for the overall reputation management of Brand Kiran and Brand Biocon Group, while also leading special projects for the Chairperson’s Office. Her expanded remit includes steering key external communication initiatives such as media outreach, social media, digital communications, and overseeing the Biocon Experience Centre. She will continue to work closely with corporate communications heads across Biocon Group companies to ensure brand consistency and collaboration.

With over 35 years of industry experience, Seema began her career in hospitality in 1989 and transitioned into Pharma & Life Sciences Communications in 1996. Before joining Biocon in 2011, she held senior leadership roles at Ranbaxy, Lupin, and the Jubilant Bhartia Group.
At Biocon, she has led global communications with strategic clarity and creativity, building a high-performing in-house team regarded as one of the top 30 corporate communication functions globally since 2017, recently ranked No. 2 in 2025. Her approach to in-house communications has been widely lauded, and in 2025 she was conferred with a Lifetime Achievement Award by a leading industry body.
This transition reflects Biocon’s continued focus on strengthening its global reputation and purpose-led brand communications under the leadership of Chairperson Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw.
