Revolutionary reputation engine increases engagement and minimizes fake users, paving the way for real conversations and empowering content creators

Sez Us brings blockchain-powered, algorithm-free social media to India

Mumbai: Sez Us, a trailblazing new social media platform, has officially launched in India after a successful debut in the United States. Targeting one of the world’s largest and most dynamic digital markets, Sez Us aims to transform the social media experience into a healthy, respectful space where real people engage in authentic conversations. The platform is designed to remove anonymity, block bots, and promote genuine interactions.

A key differentiator for Sez Us is its revolutionary reputation engine, which allows members to score and prioritize the content they wish to see while blocking unwanted topics. This approach encourages civil dialogue, curbs toxic engagement, and fosters a positive, user-driven online community.

At its core, Sez Us addresses four pressing issues plaguing today’s social networks:

Healthy, transparent conversations vs. addictive, algorithm-driven feeds that amplify toxicity and misinformation

Real members with user moderation through the reputation engine vs. fake accounts, bots, and trolls

Digital independence and self-ownership of identity, content, and followers vs. corporate-controlled ecosystems

Trusted identity with single sign-on and blockchain-powered digital wallets vs. walled gardens that restrict user freedom

Sez Us offers blockchain-based single sign-on, developed in partnership with Project Liberty and the Frequency Network Foundation, enabling users to own their digital identity and seamlessly navigate across platforms.

“We’re thrilled to bring Sez Us to India as a meaningful social media platform for free, fair, and vibrant conversations,” said Akshay Gupta, Chief Operating Officer. “Where other platforms are algorithmically controlled with technology incentivizing virality and toxicity – Sez Us is algorithm-free and promotes healthy, civilised engagement between real people, having transparent and authentic conversations. Our innovative reputation engine allows users to moderate and influence discourse by rating posts—encouraging meaningful, curated engagement and discouraging disruptive bursts of disrespectful behaviour.”

By requiring a verifiable mobile number for registration, Sez Us maintains a bot-free environment—a pressing need given that bots accounted for 49.6% of all internet traffic in 2023. The World Economic Forum’s 2024 Global Risks Report ranked India highest for the prevalence of misinformation and disinformation.

Gupta highlighted the platform’s mission, adding, “India presents a tremendous opportunity in the tectonic shift from toxic social media to anti-toxic social media by focusing on real users and their reputation. Sez Us is minimizing the key drivers of fake news, rage and toxicity considering that:

33% of toxic content is produced by 3% of accounts

0.1% of users share 80% of fake news

74% of online conflict stems from 1% of communities
The impact of fake, toxic social media content on Indian society is profound. We believe Sez Us is taking a monumental step toward addressing these issues, and in building healthy, transparent engagement that empowers members by returning their digital self-sovereignty.”

Unlike traditional platforms, Sez Us gives members lifetime ownership of their profile, content, followers, and browsing data—never storing or selling user preferences. Personalized filters put members in control of their feed without algorithmic manipulation.

As part of its India strategy, Sez Us has initiated internships with Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai and plans to invest heavily in building communities around interests such as sports, entertainment, politics, and general lifestyle.
