Mumbai: Omnicom Media Group India’s Chief Content Officer, Shailja Varghese, has exited the organisation, marking one of the first senior-level movements during a period of significant transition for the media network. While her departure coincides with Omnicom’s structural consolidation following its acquisition of IPG, sources indicate that her exit is unrelated to the integration process. Details of her next move remain undisclosed.
Varghese, professionally known as Shilpi Saranvati Varghese, is a seasoned media and content strategist with nearly two decades of experience across television, digital, entertainment and branded content. Over the years, she has held leadership roles across major global media organisations including ZEEL, Warnerwater SEA, National Geographic Channels, Discovery Communications, UTV Network, and several content agencies in the Asia-Pacific region. Her expertise spans cross-platform storytelling, performance content and brand-building.
She joined Omnicom Media Group India in 2021 as Head of Content and was later elevated to Chief Content Officer, where she spearheaded the transformation of the network’s content practice under a unified framework — OMG Content. In this role, she worked across group agencies including OMD, PHD, and other Omnicom entities, integrating data-led insights with creative storytelling to deliver content solutions for clients.
Throughout her career, Varghese has been recognised for her thought leadership, contributing to conversations on the evolving content landscape at platforms such as the Cannes Entertainment Festival and serving on advisory bodies including the Content Marketing Summit APAC. Beyond corporate leadership, she is also a podcast host and an inclusive writer, reflecting broader creative interests and a commitment to industry dialogue.
