Mumbai: Sony MAX brings the World Television Premiere of the Vidya Balan starrer action-thriller ‘Sherni’ on 17th October at 12 pm. The movie showcases the complexities that Vidya Vincent (Vidya Balan) faces as a Divisional Forest Officer, a typically male-dominated profession. Laced in lethargy and corruption, wrapped in this power struggle lies a bigger problem of wildlife conservation and the insensitive human attitude towards this issue.
Amongst the mayhem that is caused by a man-eating tiger, the pressure is high on the officials to catch the prey whilst underplaying the fact that deforestation is at an all-time high in the area, and the tiger is just practicing its inherent nature of hunting for survival. Vidya is the one to handle the situation with her calm and composed ways, unlike many female characters Vidya is shown to take charge when needed.
Starring alongside Vidya Balan is the equally versatile actors Sharat Saxena, Vijay Raaz, Ila Arun, Brijendra Kala, Neeraj Kabi, and Mukul Chadda.
