Chennai: Marking International Women’s Day 2026, South Indian Bank unveiled the second edition of Women Like You, a special coffee table book that chronicles the inspirational journeys of 53 remarkable women from diverse fields. Launched at an event in Chennai, the new edition builds on the success of the inaugural volume and celebrates resilience, leadership and the spirit of women shaping society through courage and conviction.
Reflecting the theme “Between Dreams and Duties,” the book brings together narratives of women who balance ambition with responsibility, personal aspirations with professional commitments and challenges with determination. Through stories and reflections, the volume highlights how women are redefining success while supporting others along the way.
The event was headlined by Bharathy Bhaskar, noted Tamil orator and author, who also serves as an Independent Director at Hatsun Agro Product Ltd. She spoke about the evolving role of women in leadership and the importance of perseverance and self-belief.
A panel discussion themed “Women Supporting Women: Where Real Change Begins” was moderated by documentary filmmaker and independent journalist Aparna Ganesan. The session featured speakers from diverse backgrounds, including Mahalakshmi Saravanan, Founder of Women Entrepreneurs India and TEDx Speaker; Muthamil Selvi, the first woman from Tamil Nadu to conquer Mount Everest; Mohana Sundari, Founder of Veera Pengal Munnetra Sangam (VPMS), a collective of women auto drivers in Chennai; Nisha John, Clinical Psychologist; and Saundarya Rajesh, Entrepreneur and Founder-President of Avtar Group.
The celebration also featured a special succession planning session led by Sreejith Kuniyil, offering guidance on financial preparedness and legacy planning. The evening concluded with a musical performance by Charulatha Mani, Carnatic and film playback singer known for blending classical and contemporary music.
Through the second edition of Women Like You, South Indian Bank reaffirmed its commitment to women’s empowerment and financial inclusion, creating platforms that celebrate women’s journeys while encouraging them to confidently pursue both dreams and duties.
