Mumbai: Los Angeles / Stockholm: In a first-of-its-kind entertainment crossover, Spotify and Netflix have announced a partnership to bring select video podcasts from Spotify Studios and The Ringer to the Netflix platform starting early 2026.
The collaboration will debut in the United States, with additional markets to follow, expanding the reach of Spotify’s hit shows across sports, culture, lifestyle, and true crime. The move signals how leading streaming platforms are converging around video podcasting — one of the fastest-growing segments in digital media.
Expanding Discovery and Audience Reach
Under the agreement, audiences will be able to watch full video versions of popular Spotify podcasts, including The Bill Simmons Podcast, The Rewatchables, The Big Picture, Dissect, and Serial Killers, directly on Netflix. The deal aims to “unlock new audiences” while complementing Netflix’s own original programming slate.
“At Netflix, we’re always looking for new ways to entertain our members,” said Lauren Smith, Netflix’s Vice President of Content Licensing and Programming Strategy. “As video podcasts continue to grow in popularity, this partnership with Spotify allows us to bring these top shows to both Netflix and Spotify audiences. It adds fresh voices and new perspectives to our entertainment lineup.”
A Milestone for Video Podcasting
For Spotify, the partnership is another step in evolving from an audio-first platform into a multi-format ecosystem.
“This marks a new chapter for podcasting,” said Roman Wasenmüller, Spotify’s Vice President and Head of Podcasts. “Together with Netflix, we’re expanding discovery, helping creators reach new audiences, and offering fans more ways to connect with the stories they love. This opens up an entirely new distribution opportunity.”
The lineup at launch will include shows across categories such as:
- Sports: The Bill Simmons Podcast, The Ringer NBA Show, The Ringer NFL Show, The Zach Lowe Show, Fairway Rollin’, The Mismatch, The Ringer F1 Show, The Ringer Fantasy Football Show
- Culture & Lifestyle: The Rewatchables, The Big Picture, The Dave Chang Show, Recipe Club, Dissect
- True Crime: Conspiracy Theories, Serial Killers
Strengthening the Creator Economy
The partnership reinforces Spotify’s belief in platform collaboration as a driver of creator success. By extending its video podcast library to Netflix’s 270+ million subscribers, Spotify aims to amplify reach, engagement, and monetization for its creators.
Spotify said it will continue to uphold its core principles — creator control, diversified revenue streams, and sustainable growth. Similar collaborations may be extended to independent creators in future phases.
A Shared Vision for the Future
Both companies view the partnership as a signal of the industry’s shift toward visual storytelling. With podcasting becoming increasingly video-led, the integration reflects how audience habits are changing — blending passive listening with active viewing.
“Together with Netflix, we believe the future of podcasting is becoming more dynamic, more visual, and more connected than ever,” Spotify said in a statement.
