Top 10 Advertisers in Apr-Jun’20* contributing to 47% of the total TV ad volumes: TAM AdEx Report

TAM Media Research released their ‘TAM AdEx-Television Advertising Report-III’ for period Jan-Jun’20, the report series focuses on top advertisers during Apr-Jun’20* and the category they belong to, it also deep dives into brands of these top advertisers.

Top 10 Advertisers in April – June 20*

With contributing to 47% of the total TV ad volumes, 8 out of 10 advertisers from the FMCG sector. The undisputed leader Hindustan Unilever leading the chart with the highest share followed by Reckitt Benckiser on the 2nd spot.

Top Advertisers on Television:

Hindustan Unilever(HUL) witnessed a sharp rise from week 22 onwards with the highest ad volumes in week 25, while ad volumes increased by 82% in week 25 compared to week 15.

Categories of HUL:

With 75% of HUL’s ad volumes in April – June 20* constituted by Top 10 categories, the top 3 categories consist of Milk Beverages with 16%, Toilet Soaps with 14%, and Shampoos with 12%.

Brands of HUL:

HUL advertised for 100+ brands, the top 10 brands of HUL accounted for 38% share of ad volumes. With Horlicks, Clinic Plus Shampoo, Surf Excel Easy Wash, LUX Toilet Soaps, Close Up being the most prominent brands under the HUL umbrella.
