Mumbai: Voltas Ltd., an air-conditioning and engineering services company, has announced that Managing Director and CEO Pradeep Bakshi will step down upon completing his term on August 31, 2025. Mukundan C.P. Menon, the company’s Executive Director and Head of the Room Air Conditioner Business, has been appointed Managing Director (Designate) effective April 1, 2025, and will take over as Managing Director from September 1, 2025.
In a filing to the stock exchanges, the company stated, “The Board at its Meeting held on 29-01-2025, accepted the request of Mr. Pradeep Bakshi, Managing Director & CEO, who had expressed his desire not to seek reappointment as Managing Director & CEO upon completion of his current term on 31-08-2025. The Board also unanimously approved (a) appointment of Mr. Mukundan C.P. Menon, currently Executive Director and Head – Room Air Conditioner Business of the Company, as Managing Director (Designate) effective 01-04-2025 and subsequently as the Managing Director effective 01-09-2025 and (b) appointment of Ms. Sonia Singh as Non-Executive Independent Director.”
Pradeep Bakshi has been associated with Voltas for over two decades, playing a key role in strengthening the brand’s leadership position in the air-conditioning and cooling solutions market. Under his tenure, Voltas expanded its consumer durable segment, enhanced its product portfolio, and reinforced its market leadership in air conditioners.
Mukundan Menon, who has been instrumental in driving the company’s Room Air Conditioner business, will now lead Voltas into its next phase of growth and innovation. His strategic vision and deep industry expertise position him well to steer the company forward.
Additionally, the Board has also approved the appointment of Sonia Singh as a Non-Executive Independent Director, further strengthening the company’s leadership team.
