New Delhi: Xiaomi India has announced a key leadership transition with Mallikarjuna Rao B V taking charge as Head – Online Sales for Xiaomi India across all product categories. In addition to this role, Rao will also lead POCO India’s sales across all channels, as the company sharpens its focus on omnichannel growth and execution.
The move follows Rao’s impactful tenure as Head of Channels (Offline Sales), where he played a critical role in reviving and strengthening Xiaomi’s offline business during a pivotal phase for the brand. His leadership emphasised transparent partner policies, data- and technology-led execution, and close collaboration with retailers and distributors, helping rebuild trust and accelerate momentum across the offline ecosystem.
With decades of experience across India’s telecom and smartphone industries, Rao brings deep expertise in sales strategy, distribution expansion, and large-scale channel management.
Prior to joining Xiaomi, he served as National Sales Head at Motorola Mobility (Lenovo Group) and held multiple leadership positions at Tata Tele Business Services, including Head of 3G, Head of Modern Trade, and Zonal Head. He began his career at Nokia as an Area Sales Manager, gaining early exposure to India’s evolving mobile retail landscape.
In his new role, Rao is expected to drive Xiaomi and POCO’s online growth agenda, strengthen omnichannel integration, and build sustainable scale across marketplaces, D2C platforms, and emerging digital channels. By combining his strong offline leadership experience with online execution, Xiaomi aims to create tighter channel alignment and deliver a more seamless consumer experience.
