Bengaluru: Zee Kannada is set to captivate viewers with one of its most anticipated fiction launches of the year, Adi Lakshmi Purana. Premiering on 8th December, the show will air Monday to Friday at 9 PM, bringing audiences a compelling blend of love, emotional conflict, and rich family drama.
Set at the intersection of tradition and modernity, Adi Lakshmi Purana tells the story of Lakshmi, a knowledge-driven village girl who crosses paths with Adi, a sharp and ambitious city boy. After being dismissed by Adi during their first encounter, Lakshmi soon re-enters his world—this time confronting the rigid beliefs and strict rules of his domineering grandfather, Dharmaraj. The narrative delves into Lakshmi’s journey as she navigates generational expectations, societal boundaries, and her evolving relationship with Adi.
The show also highlights the parallel track of Sanjeeva, a simple village schoolteacher, and Amrutha, a wealthy, ambitious woman pursuing her PhD, exploring how two individuals from contrasting backgrounds adapt to life after marriage.
Frontlining the show are Rajneesh and Asha Ayyanar in the lead roles. The ensemble cast features notable actors including Manjunath Hegde, Ashok Sharma, Rakshitha, Sushma Nanayya, Malathi Sirdeshpande, Kailash, Jyothi, Savitha Krishnamurthy, and Bhagyashri Rao—each contributing depth and authenticity to the layered family narrative.
Adi Lakshmi Purana stands apart with its high production values and thoughtfully designed sets, offering audiences an immersive storytelling experience that goes beyond conventional dramas. The series aims to explore the emotional tension and cultural clashes that arise when deeply rooted traditions meet modern aspirations.
With this launch, Zee Kannada’s popular show Shree Raghavendra Mahathme will transition to a weekend broadcast slot, airing every Saturday and Sunday from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
