Bengaluru: Kannada Entertainment Channel Zee Kannada has maintained the 2nd position for three weeks in a row. The Channel is also inching close to emerge as the leader in Urban market.
Zee Kannada is witnessing steady progress for the past couple of weeks with many of its new properties launched in the recent past happen to be very successful. . In week 4 the Channel scored 311 GRP and in week 5 it went up to 342 GRP and during week 6 the same went up to 347 GRP in Over all Karnataka Market.
Similarly, In Urban Karnataka Market, the Channel scored 344 GRP in week 4 and the same went up to 356 GRP in week 5 and further to 398 GRP in week 6. The channel has also reduced the gap with the leader to only 71 GRPs in urban market this week.
The Mega fiction show Nagini launched on 8th February in its 9:00 PM time band opened with a bang to become the slot leader on launch week itself. Nagini opened with 5.9 TVR against 5.5 TVR delivered by Avanu Mathu Shravani on Suvarna, while Om Shakti Om Shanti on Colors Kannada delivred 2.9 TVR and Chandana Gombe on Udaya TV scored 1.0 TVR.
Apparently, Zee Kannada wanted to increase its rural presence and its seems Nagini has brought in audience from both Rural and Urban Markets.
Moreover, the Celebrity talk show Weekend with Ramesh Season-2 continues to be the slot leader for the 2nd successive week and its singing talent show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Season-11 and recently launched fiction properties Mahadevi and Shrimaan Shrimathi have also contributed for the channel’s growth.
