Bangalore: The leading Kannada Entertainment Channel Zee Kannada is gearing up for the launch of two new shows Subbalakshmi Samsara and Khiladi Kutumbato reinforce its evening prime time band starting from 12th June 2017 onwards.
The move seems to be a strategic efforts of Zee Kannada to establish strong foothold in the early primetime band, whereby it can build a string of performing shows in to the super prime time that could help the channel to consolidate its viewership across the prime time.
Zee Kannada is launching two family entertainment shows, one of the fiction genre, Subbalakshmi Samsara, which is an engaging family drama and one of the non-fiction genre, Khiladi Kutumba, that brings the unbeatable combination of Jaggesh and 10 contestants of Comedy Khiladigalu on a single platform.
Both Subbalakshmi Samsara and Khiladi Kutumba are being scheduled at evening primetime slots of 6.30 PM and 7 PM respectively that will be aired every Monday to Friday.
Subbalakshmi Samsara, is the story of unfaithful Gurumurthy who embarks on an extra marital affair with his pretty secretary, behind his unsuspecting wife’s back.
The role of Subbalakshmi will be played by famed actress Deepa Bhaskar. Bhavani Singh as Gurumurthy and Nihal of Drama Juniors fame playing Atharva. A naïve, Subbalakshmi, who thinks her husband is an epitome of Lord Shriram believes implicitly in her husband. The story revolves around how an innocent and unsuspecting Subbalakshmi strives to save her beloved husband and family amidst these hurdles
On the otherhand, Khiladi Kutumba, is a comedy show hosted by the most popular and successful comedian in the sandalwood industry and the face of Comedy Khiladigalu Navarasanayaka Jaggesh who has won the heart of millions.
The show will feature the 10 contestants of Comedy Khiladigalu on weekdays, Mon – Fri, at 7 pm to keep the entire family in in splits and will entertain the viewers through skits on current scenarios, standup comedy and spoofs. The show will see feature noted celebrities from across the industry. The show will also have special acts of varied talents from across Karnataka.
Zee Kannada is pitching this Comedy Show format in its early prime time which is usually being slotted in late night time slots with an aim to target the rural Karnataka audience.
The Channel has steadily progressed from rock bottom to No. 2 position in Kannada GEC space ever since its young and talented Business Head – Mr. Raghavendra Hunsur took over the reighns of Zee Kannada. Many Shows produced by Zee Kannada such as Mahamayi and Naagini are rendring a helping hand to Zee Tamil, as the Tamil dubbed version of the same is delivering good numbers in the evening time band of the channel.
