Bengaluru: The Kannada satellite channel “Zee Kannada” unveils “Jothe Jotheyali” at 7:30PM (Monday – Friday) starting from 27th October.
“Jothe Jotheyali” is the story of 31 year old Shalini and 26 year old Abhay. Shalini is from a lower middle class family who works as a school teacher and Abhay is a TV journalist, Abhay makes a false news against her and makes her lose her job, he realizes the mistake and helps her in regaining the job, during this process they become friends and Abhay falls for her simplicity and straight forwardness he falls in love with her.
However, Shalini says she has always seen him as only a good friend and says she has no special feelings for him. She also explains him that it is not socially acceptable as he is 5 years younger than her. The further story of the new show revolves around the fact that whether Abhay eventually wins her over with his true love and his everlasting flamboyant attitude and will they finally unite…?
The promo of “Jothe Jotheyali” is supporting the above story line by showing successful real life couples who breached the Social Taboo of male female age differences such as Sachin Tendulkar and Anjali, Late Actor Vishnuvardhan and Bharathi, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai etc…
The storyline and promo infact, raised speculations on whether this new serial has anything to do with one of the Kannada film industry’s most celebrated off screen romances, which involves late Dr Vishnuvardhan and Bharathi.
Zee Kannada is on revamping mode ever since Siju Prabhakar took over the driver’s seat and brought in a major shuffling in the programming team. The channel has changed its logo and packaging couple of months before, along with the launch of big ticket chat show “Weekends with Ramesh” hosted by popular Kannada actor “Ramesh Aravind” and the new is also part of his yearlong channel revamping program to display a steady progress.
