Kochi: Soon after the lockdown was lifted, Zee Keralam has been quick in resuming shooting of their serials with fresh content and now the channel is all set up to start a brand new fiction ‘Karthika deepam’ from July 13, Monday onwards. The serial will air on Zee Keralam from Monday to Friday at 8 pm.
Karthika Deepam tells the story of a girl who was left orphaned suddenly after her parents expired in an accident. Kannan, a brotherly character in her life, lends her support, and takes her to his home. However, the happiness of coming into a family is short-lived for Karthika as she endures unexpected problems in-house. Karthika however is determined to not let her destiny bring down her spirits and instead faces her adversities with grace and poise. The serial has been shot in and around Triprayar adhering to strict COVID 19 protocols. The serial also marks the comeback of seasoned actors like Yedu Krishnan and Vivek Gopan. Snisha Chandran plays the lead role of Karthika in the serial and has said that she is excited to play a character so similar to her in style and habit.
The channel also released the title song of the show sung by Nanjamma, the 60-year-old singer, from the rural innards of Attappadi who became a sensation with her singing. The song also marks music composer Gopi Sundar’s foray into Malayalam mini-screen for the first time.
Zee Keralam has become a favourite channel among the Malayalees within a year, and the channel has already climbed the ladder fast in their ratings.
