Chennai : NS Easwaran, Business Head of Zee Tamil has moved on from ZEEL after a two and a half year stint as Business Head with overall career in ZEEL spanning over eight years. It is understood that Yesterday (16th November 2015) was his last day with the Organisation.
NS Easwaran joined as Deputy business head of Zee Tamil (the Tamil general entertainment channel from ZEEL) during March, 2013 with the new designation being created to bring Easwaran on board. Initially he was reporting to the then Business Head Mr. Prem Menon and apparently he was elevated as the Business Head of the channel after the exit of Prem in July 2013.
Easwaran has 17 years of experience in various roles of Television Media. He started his career in sales in 1998 and entered the media industry in 2000. Moving to Zee in 2007, he headed ad sales, West, for the Zee South channels. However, his mandate expanded in 2012-13, when he was promoted as head of ad sales in the Western region for Zee Hindi channels.
Market Sources also confirm that Business Head of Zee Kannada, Mr. Siju Prabhakaran was assigned with the additional responsibilities of running the show in Zee Tamil too, while Sharadha Sunder was excused from the additional responsibilities of Zee Tamil.
Siju Prabhakaran was instrumental in pulling back Zee Kannada from rock bottom and driving it back in to a steady growth path in terms of viewership and revenues. He is expected to replicate his success story in Zee Tamil also.
In the past two years Zee Tamil has invested heavily on rebuilding its programming line-up and acquisition of movies rights that includes big titles like Kamal Haasan Starrer ‘Utthama Villain’. The Channel Logo and Packing was also re-positioned with a new look couple of months before.
