Chennai: New Gen Media’s Infotainment Channel Puthiyathalaimurai TV introduced Annual Sakthi Awards last year onwards to acknowledge, empower and celebrate the power of women in the present day’s society.
The Puthiya Thalaimurai Sakthi Awards endeavours to honour and celebrate extraordinary women for outstanding achievements in their chosen fields of work and service. It aims to be a genuine and unique attempt to recognise women icons of the country and catalyse them to reach greater heights in their pursuits that help in nation building in different ways.
The first edition of Puthiyathalaimurai Sakthi Awards was held on the occasion of women’s day on 8th March 2015 and honoured six women achievers from six different categories of contribution towards the society. The Channel is set for the second edition of the prestigious awards ceremony which will be held on 27th February 2016 at Hotel Le Meridian, Chennai.
The second edition of Puthiyathalaimurai Sakthi Awards 2016 is set to recognise a new set of women achievers in this year from various fields of achievement. The award winners will be selected through a stringent process combining the consensus of a jury and public voting carried out through their news channel Puthiyathalaimurai TV, Puthiyathalaimurai Magazine and Smart paper ”PT Indru”.

The nominees will be shortlisted with research support from Puthiya Thalaimurai Magazine and Puthiyathalaimurai TV Channel.
The categories of Puthiyathalaimurai Sakthi Awards are uniquely standardized with various types of achievements and excellence such as Leadership, Knowledge, Bravery, Efficiency, Kindness and overall excellence. The televised event will be aired at a later date on Puthiyathalaimurai TV.
