ZEE5 launches ZEE5 Originals in 6 languages;to feature 20 Original Shows by April-end 2018

Mumbai: ZEE5, India’s largest and most comprehensive digital entertainment platform for language content, today announced the launch of ZEE5 ORIGINALS. Spearheaded by Amit Goenka, CEO – Zee International and Z5 Global, ZEE5 ORIGINALS marks ZEE5’s foray in the original content space,making it the biggest content hub in India.

With 20 Originals by the end of April 2018,ZEE5 ORIGINALS, a holistic mix of web-series and short films, strives to create an immersive experience for audiences with its potent content offerings across 6 languages – Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Bengali. The streaming of ZEE5 ORIGINALS in stills ZEE5’s supremacy in creating a multi-lingual experience, with content across 7 genres – Thriller, Drama, Action, Comedy, Satire, Biopics and Reality.

Every month, the OTT platform will further strengthen its pipeline of offerings with 1 new web series in each of the aforementioned languages, and 1 new short film. By the end of March 2019, ZEE5 will host over 90+ original shows.

Catering specifically to Indian tastes and preferences, with an international production quality outlook, this content further builds on ZEE5’s promise to offer its viewers the best of quality language content across genres.

Outlining the OTT platform’s long-term vision, Archana Anand, Digital Head, ZEE5 India said, “The OTT audience in India prefers to consume on-the-go content which is also downloadable and accessible offline. Keeping this in mind, we have designed a robust content line-up, through ZEE5 ORIGINALS, across deeply invigorating genres which is introspective and creates a rich linguistic experience. ”

This Spring, ZEE5 ORIGINALS will feature 20 Originals – a mix of web-series and short films – in 6 languages. This includes 9 Hindi web-series (Karenjit Kaur, Life Sahi Hai 2, Lockdown, Babbar Ka Tabbar, Zero Kms, Table Number 5, The Story, The Big Cover Up, Dhatt Teri Ki) and 3 Hindi short films (Mehmaan, Tamashree, Sone Bhi Do Yaaron). For the users looking for a lingual experience, ZEE5 is launching 2 Marathi web-series (Liftman, Horn OK Please), 2 Telugu web-series (Nanna Koochi, Chitram Vichatram), 2 Tamil web-series (Kallachirippu, America Mappillai), 1 Malayalam web-series (Utsaha Ithihasam) and 1 Bengali movie (Aranya Deb).

This exciting content line-up will also feature some of the biggest and most entertaining faces from the world of Indian entertainment including Sunny Leone, Badshah, Sumeet Vyas, Swara Bhaskar, Shakti Kapoor, Swanand Kirkire, Mohan Kapoor, Bhau Kadam, Naga Babu, Raftaar, Naseeruddin Shah, Raima Sen, Aparshakti Khurana, Naveen Kasturia, MaanviGagroo, Kailash Kher, Shekhar Ravjiani, Sachin-Jigar, Jonita Gandhi, Shirley Setia, Darshan Raval, Neha Bhasin, MallikaSherawat, Rupali Bhosle, Jisshu Sengupta, Saheb Bhattacharya, Ayesha Raza, Avneet Kaur, and celebrated filmmakers like Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg, Q, and Tamil director Karthik Subbaraj amongst many more.
