Trivandrum: Suvarna News & Kannada Prabha (one of the oldest and most trusted dailies of Karnataka) which are part of the Asianet News Network has for the second year, successfully executed SME AWARDS (Small & Medium Sizes Enterprises) in association with KASSIA (Karnataka Small Scale Industries Association).
KASSIA is a premier voluntary state level non-Government Institution of Small Scale Industrialists. It is managed by a Council of Management consisting of President, Vice President, the immediate Past President (Ex-officio Member) and 37 members directly elected by the General Body.

A Prestigious platform to felicitate Small-scale industrialists for their un-recognized efforts in their respective segments, be it agricultural equipments, chemical industry, tool making…Etc. The primary objective is to promote the development of Small Scale Industries by co-operating with industrial, business, educational and research institutions and other organizations and help in expanding the business opportunities.
All members under KASSIA were communicated and briefed about the felicitation and to submit their profile details along with achievements, recognitions and awards received over the past years.
Suvarna News & Kannada Prabha associated with KASSIA and called in for participation through on-air Promos, intimating members to download applications and apply through online portals.These profiles were scrutinized by a jury panel based on several parameters set by the association.
The event was held on 14th July at KASSIA Bhavan, Bengaluru with more than 500 members & non members supporting & cheering for their nominees. There were had 34 winners & runner ups in 17different categories, 6 special awards & 1 KASSIA Rathna Award.
