Star Maa is 3rd Most viewed Channel in India; Clocks historic numbers in Telugu Market

Hyderabad: Star India’s flagship Telugu GEC “Star Maa”became the third highest viewed channel in the country in week 34 with 697191 (000s) weekly impressions in BARC India’s Top 10 Channels list of across Genre for week 34 under the TG of All India (U+R) : 2+ Individuals.

Star Maa,despite being a regional language player, has consistently been in the top 10 channels of the country in the last few weeks.

With 936 GRPs, Star Maa also touched the historic feat of reaching highest ever viewership ratings for any Telugu brand in the BARC era [BARC, Wk 34 2018, Urban 15+ AP/TS]. The Channel has an undisputed leadership towering by 37% over the next best player in the market Zee Telugu.

Star Maa has a well-rounded viewership with a host of big properties in fiction, non-fiction and the biggest Tollywood movies. The is No. 1 in fiction in primetime with slot leadership in >70% slots

Bigg Boss Season 2 in Telugu is delivering strong with a whopping 4.4Cr viewers tuning in each week, i.e. 1out of 2 people in the AP/TS universe.

Star Maa is gearing up further to entertain the viewers with some impact properties like ‘Pelli Choopulu’ where popular TV anchor Pradeep sets out to meet eligible girls and find a potential life partner.

It also lined up big-ticket comedy property, ‘The Great Telugu Laughter Challenge’ judged by the most popular Telugu comedy star ‘Bhramanadam’.

On fiction front, Star Maa is set to launch ‘Mouna Ragam’, a poignant story of an unwanted girl child who survives an illegal abortion attempt and journeys to become the protector of her house
