New Delhi: The information and broadcasting ministry has called up on general public and stakeholders to update their feedback and comments on proposed amendments in the Cable Television Network Rules, 1994.

The ministry proposes to amend Rule 6 of Cable Television Network Rules, 1994 by adding two sub clauses of sub rule (2) that includes sub clause (a) that insists on Programme Code projecting women in a positive, leadership role of sobriety, moral and character-building qualities and sub-clause (b) that demands the display of casting/credits/titles of Hindi/Regional languages TV serials in the respective languages also.

The amendment proposing insertion in title credits of TV serial was based on representations received on demanding display of names of artists, singers, lyricists, musicians, directors, producers, etc. in the Hindi language / Regional languages and subsequent advisory dated 14th June 2019 issued by the ministry to private satellite TV channels.

The feedback/comments on the proposed amendment in the Cable Television Network Rules, 1994 have to be given by email at [email protected] before end of November 2019.
