PhonePe partners Hungama to offer its premium services to subscribers directly

Mumbai: Hungama, India’s leading digital entertainment company, now allows users to subscribe to Hungama Music, its music streaming platform and Hungama Play, its video-on-demand service, directly from PhonePe, India’s leading digital payments platform. Customers need to log in to their PhonePe accounts on the app and select Hungama Music and Hungama Play from the list of services mentioned in the Subscription tab under the Recharge & Pay Bills category. Users can opt for a monthly or annual subscription of either Hungama Music Pro, Hungama Play Pro or both.

A Hungama Music Pro subscription can be purchased for INR 99 for a month or INR 499 for a year. It enables users to enjoy HD quality ad-free music and unlimited downloads and gives them access to over 15 million songs and music videos in more than 20 Indian and international languages. A Hungama Play Pro subscription costs INR 99 for a month or INR 799 for a year.  This offers the viewers an ad-free video watching experience and unlimited downloads. They can explore a library of over 5000 films in English, Hindi and regional languages, original shows, more than 1500 short films, 7500+ hours of kids and television content in multiple languages, and over 150,000 short-format videos across various categories like music, film gossip, humour, spiritual etc.

Speaking about the association with PhonePe, Siddhartha Roy, COO, Hungama Digital Media said, “We have constantly worked towards devising mechanisms that make it simpler for users to explore our multilingual and multi-genre audio and video libraries. Our association with PhonePe is another step towards building a connected digital ecosystem that allows users to enjoy seamless integration between various online services. We are certain that consumers will appreciate the utility of the feature and use it to easily access our premium services.”

Commenting on the launch, Ankit Gaur, Director Business Development, PhonePe said, “In the current times, there is a rising demand for quality online entertainment options that can be enjoyed from the safety of homes. In line with this, we launched the Subscription category in April this year. Our collaboration with Hungama is another step in that direction to provide our 230 million users with a seamless way to renew their purchase and activate subscriptions at the click of a button. We aim to add more such entertainment options to our platform in the future.”

PhonePe’s Subscription category enables the fulfillment and activation of the pack in one single connected flow. It makes the renewal experience smooth as users don’t need to struggle with entering lengthy abstract coupon codes purchased from a different platform. The pack gets activated automatically once the payment is successfully made on PhonePe.
