CRED’s New Community Support Initiative Provides Meal Kits to Underprivileged Families

Mumbai: Continuing its community support to people affected by Covid-19, CRED in partnership with GiveIndia has committed to providing 1M+ meals to underprivileged families through meal kits, which include dry ration for a month.

With the support of its members, the initiative will allow CRED to provide dry ration kits for 3 meals to families with no to low means.  Each meal kit includes rice, wheat, lentils, oil, sugar, and other essentials. The distribution will be managed by GiveIndia, a leading NGO with whom CRED has partnered for the cause.

A CRED member can participate in the cause by donating 25,000 coins or more. There is no cap on the number of times and the total coins that can be spent as a member can donate multiple times between August 11 to August 14.

CRED members understand this value and are keen on contributing in a transparent and trustworthy manner. With the food cause, we are hoping to help rural communities tide through difficult times and help them with the basic necessities to go through their daily lives. We believe in making an impact through initiatives and bringing communities together for the greater good of society. We are fortunate to partner again with GiveIndia, who bring operational capabilities and on-ground knowledge to identify the problem and provide solutions at scale.” 

This cause is an extension of the community effort to fight the Covid-19 pandemic. Last year, CRED’s initiative successfully contributed in securing three lakh masks for frontline workers during the first wave of the pandemic. In May 2021, members came together again to arrange one billion oxygen liters for hospitals during the peak of the second wave.

Members will receive a certificate from GiveIndia for their contribution. The entire value of member contributions will go towards the cause. Administrative and other fees will be covered by CRED.

Like CRED, we believe in collective action and have been amazed to see CRED members coming forward with compassion and commitment to help citizens in distress during both waves. Disadvantaged communities are bearing an unfair long-term burden of the pandemic’s economic fallout and CRED’s undertaking to provide 1 million meals is timely and much needed.”
