Vipin Unni has recently taken up the role of Head of Strategy – Programming and Communications at Sun TV Network, reporting to MaheshKumar R, MD.
He was Head of Marketing and Communications at Disney Star for Telugu linear TV Star Maa and OTT offering HotStar Telugu prior.
At Sun TV Network, he will be taking the reins of both the Malayalam and Telugu clusters, and is tasked with driving the network’s strategy to regain its growth trajectory, informed a statement announcing his appointment.
During his stint of six years at Disney Star, the channel refreshed its brand identity, tailoring the messaging to be culturally relevant and relatable. The statement added that a civic sense campaign #BiggBossIsWatchingYou was launched under Unni’s leadership. Collaborating with Metro Rail, it captured audience attention and promoted civic responsibility by forging an association between the show ‘Bigg Boss’ and Metro Rail.
