Sajan Abraham, former Chairman of Maitri Advertising Works, passed away on 12th June. Sajan was an integral part of the Chennai Advertising Community and was respected for mentoring younger professionals. Abraham began his career at Lintas in 1985 and served as General Manager at Mudra Communication from 1990 to 1995.
During his tenure at Rediffusion Chennai, Abraham built and mentored a new team to capitalize on additional business opportunities. Under his leadership, the agency successfully managed the migration of Citibank accounts from JWT to Rediffusion due to global realignments. He was also instrumental in the creation of several award-winning ads for both Citibank and Taj.
He worked as a visiting professor for a brief period and held the position of Director at Zibonga Joys Pvt Ltd, an online gifting service that, according to Abraham’s LinkedIn post, was probably a little ahead of its time and had to, sadly, close down. Abraham had been part of Maitri Advertising Works since 1999.
