MUMBAI: ThunderPlus, an EV charging company, has launched a new initiative, ‘Charger Lagao Paise Kamao’, designed to transform homes and walls across the country into income-generating EV charging stations. This programme is especially focussed on empowering women and the differently abled by providing them with a sustainable source of passive income, with minimal to no manual intervention required.

Inspired by the coin box phone, ThunderPlus is looking to reinvent passive income opportunities by turning every household into a potential EV charging station. With the 3.3 KW OCPP AC Charger, a universal charger for 2, 3, and 4-wheelers, this campaign not only brings clean energy accessibility closer to communities but also enables its beneficiaries to earn a substantial income. The product’s design includes IP67 certification for dust, sun, and rain protection, ensuring resilience across diverse environments, making it a suitable addition to homes, walls, and even commercial locations explains the company.

With a single ThunderPlus charger, individuals can earn up to Rs. 15,000 per month, and in high-demand commercial locations, three chargers could yield an income of up to Rs. 50,000 per month. At an accessible price of Rs. 9999—significantly lower than similar products priced at Rs. 25,000 or more—ThunderPlus is aiming to make entry into the EV charging business financially viable for all.

ThunderPlus aims to partner with government bodies, NGOs, and CSR organizations to drive positive societal impact, particularly for women and the differently abled. “By working with local communities, this initiative will provide financial independence and growth opportunities for women and those differently abled, making it a powerful tool for economic empowerment,” said Rajeev YSR, CEO ThunderPlus.

Through this initiative, ThunderPlus added that it strives to foster an inclusive environment for all, where everyone can contribute to and benefit from India’s transition to sustainable energy.
