Mumbai: In a landmark move for Indian cricket fans and the sports broadcasting industry, JioStar and Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) have announced a strategic collaboration for India’s upcoming tours of England in 2025 and 2026. Under this agreement, JioStar will exclusively stream all matches—including Tests, ODIs, and T20 Internationals—on JioHotstar, while Sony Entertainment Television will retain exclusive TV broadcast rights for the series.
The partnership kicks off with the much-anticipated five-match Test series, which begins on June 20, 2025 at Headingley, Leeds, and will be followed by matches in Birmingham (July 2), Lord’s (July 10), Manchester (July 23), and The Oval (July 31). The collaboration also includes India’s 2026 white-ball tour of England, which will feature three ODIs and five T20Is.
Commenting on the partnership, Sanjog Gupta, CEO – Sports and Live Experiences, JioStar, said, “This collaboration is a win-win for all stakeholders involved—especially Indian cricket fans—and serves the broader sporting landscape. The combination of JioHotstar’s deep digital footprint with SPNI’s broadcast network will universalise access to India’s tours of England. As the habitual destination for cricket viewing, JioHotstar is committed to offering millions of fans inclusive, intuitive, interactive, and immersive viewing experiences. We will continue to leverage the power of our storytelling, consumer-focused product features, and connectivity to unlock infinite possibilities of serving fans on our platforms.”
The partnership reflects a growing trend in sports media—cross-platform collaboration to maximise reach and accessibility—giving fans a seamless viewing experience across both linear TV and digital streaming.
Gaurav Banerjee, MD and CEO, Sony Pictures Networks India, added, “We are thrilled to bring this fantastic partnership to cricket fans for India’s tour to England! Backed by the power of the Sony TV network and the digital prowess of JioStar – This first-of-its-kind partnership will hope to redefine cricket coverage. Our deep thanks to our partners in ECB for their support.”
Sony Pictures Networks India had previously secured exclusive Indian rights to England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) properties in 2023, under a comprehensive eight-year deal running through 2031.
This collaboration signals a new chapter in Indian sports broadcasting, where digital and television platforms converge to offer unprecedented access, innovation, and viewer engagement for cricket fans worldwide.
