New Delhi: EY India has announced the appointment of Gaurav Bhalotia as its new Chief Technology Officer (CTO). In this role, Gaurav will drive EY India’s innovation and technology strategy, partnering with client service and product teams to strengthen and scale the firm’s software-driven solutions (“digital assets”).
His appointment comes as EY India accelerates the development and adoption of AI-powered, technology-led business solutions to support clients in navigating an increasingly digital landscape. Over recent years, EY’s Technology practice has grown significantly, with plans to further scale its AI, data, and digital transformation capabilities.
EY India currently has over 20,000 professionals delivering technology-integrated consulting solutions across multiple service lines. In the last five years, the firm has built a suite of digital solutions for supply chain optimization, financial reporting, tax compliance, risk management, contract management, and more. The integration of AI and GenAI into these platforms is helping clients enhance productivity and operational efficiency.

Gaurav brings over two decades of experience across technology leadership, large-scale systems, machine learning, and product strategy. Prior to EY India, he served as CTO of Udaan, where he led product, engineering, data science, design, and infrastructure, building a technology backbone that enabled rapid scaling. At Flipkart, as Vice President of Engineering, he played a pivotal role in shaping the company’s early technology ecosystem, including customer platforms and product stacks for discovery, web, and merchandising.
He also founded FindMyHealth, a personalized wellness platform, and has been an advisor and angel investor to several early-stage startups. Gaurav began his career in the US with Oracle after completing his Master’s in Computer Science from the University of California and holds a BTech from IIT Bombay.
EY India has also heavily invested in upskilling talent in AI. Through its AI Academy, now extended to clients, more than 45,000 professionals have completed over 1.5 million learning hours with 18,600 AI certifications. In the past three years, the firm has tripled its tech talent pool, with STEM and technology professionals now comprising over half its workforce.
