JLR (Jaguar Land Rover), the British luxury automaker owned by Tata Motors, has named Garth Turnbull as its new Managing Director for the Asia Pacific region.
Turnbull takes on the role after serving nearly seven years as Managing Director of JLR Taiwan, where he was credited with driving sustained growth and strengthening the brand’s position in the market.
In his new capacity, Turnbull will be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of JLR across 15 markets in the Asia Pacific. The company said he will focus on reinforcing its “House of Brands” strategy for Range Rover, Defender, Discovery, and Jaguar—ensuring each brand continues to build its unique identity and appeal.
“It’s a privilege to take on this role with JLR for the Asia Pacific Region, a region of incredible opportunity and complexity,” said Turnbull. “As we navigate ongoing economic shifts and evolving definitions of luxury, our focus is clear: to deepen the emotional resonance of our brands with clients through curated modern luxury experiences. That means going beyond the product to create meaningful connections, foster trust and build long-term value for our clients and partners.”
Turnbull joined JLR in 2011 as a Regional Business Manager in Australia before moving to the company’s Asia Pacific office as Commercial Manager. His experience in the region, spanning over a decade, is expected to help him steer JLR’s growth ambitions in one of its most dynamic markets.
JLR, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Motors and part of Tata Sons, continues to sharpen its focus on luxury, innovation, and customer experience as it navigates a rapidly evolving automotive landscape.
