Sony SAB brings mythology with a modern lens in Gatha Shiv Parivaar Ki Ganesh Kartikey

Mumbai: Sony SAB is set to captivate audiences with its grand new mythological saga, Gatha Shiv Parivaar Ki Ganesh Kartikey, premiering on Monday, 6th October at 8 PM. Produced by Peninsula Pictures Pvt. Ltd, the magnum opus brings alive the untold story of Lord Ganesh and Lord Kartikey while vividly showcasing the revered Shiv Parivaar.

The show features an ensemble cast with Mohit Malik as Lord Shiva, Shrenu Parikh as Goddess Parvati, Ekansh Kathrotiya as Lord Ganesha, and Subhan Khan as Lord Kartikey. Ahead of the premiere, the cast embarked on a spiritual journey to seek blessings at the sacred Thiruttani Murugan Temple in Tamil Nadu, underlining the authenticity and reverence with which the series has been created.

With its larger-than-life sets, authentic storytelling, and powerful performances, Ganesh Kartikey promises to be a visual spectacle that highlights universal values of love, courage, and unity, while portraying the divine family’s eternal bond.

Anirudh Pathak, Creator of Ganesh Kartikey and Producer at Peninsula Pictures, added, “In India, religion and television still form the emotional core of our audience. Sharing his experience, Mohit Malik, who plays Lord Shiva, said, “When I was first approached for the role, I knew it was not going to be easy. It required me to go beyond performance, to truly immerse myself in the philosophy and essence of Lord Shiv. As an actor, I found it deeply moving to explore Shiva not only as the Mahadev, but also as a husband and a father, navigating love, challenges, and the dynamics within his family. The journey so far has been both challenging and rewarding. Every day on set feels like a blessing, especially because of the scale and authenticity with which the makers have envisioned this magnum opus. I hope that through this show, audiences not only enjoy the visual spectacle but also take away the message that even Gods faced struggles, emotions, and bonds that mirror our own lives.”

Shrenu Parikh, who essays Goddess Parvati, said, “Bringing alive a character who is revered by millions, while also portraying her as a woman with deeply human emotions, has been both a huge responsibility and an incredibly fulfilling journey. What makes this show so special is the way it highlights the Shiv Parivaar as a family. Behind the divinity lies a story of love, sacrifice, and bonds that every household can relate to. For me, the most moving part of this journey has been exploring Parvati’s relationship with her sons, Ganesh and Kartikey. What also makes this experience special is the camaraderie with my co-actors Mohit, Ekansh and Subhan. Together, we truly feel like a family, which reflects beautifully on screen.”
