Mumbai: Kult, India’s AI-driven personalization and beauty platform, has announced the appointment of Parag Gupta as Chief Financial Officer. A distinguished Chartered Accountant and Business Transformation Leader, Parag brings over 20 years of experience driving financial excellence and strategic growth across high-growth sectors.
Joining Kult at a pivotal moment, Parag will support the company’s ambitious expansion plans, including closing large inventory financing arrangements with banks and institutional lenders. His extensive experience in scaling global operations and managing multi-hundred million dollar businesses will be instrumental in strengthening Kult’s financial strategy.
Prior to joining Kult, Parag held senior financial leadership positions at several global organizations. He served as Group CFO for College Dekho and its affiliated companies, directed financial operations and market entry strategy for PayPal India, served as India CFO for AT&T, and acted as Group CFO for Nimbuzz BVI, establishing financial controls across global operations. His career also includes managing offshore resources and multi-phase accounting transitions for international organizations such as Washington Mutual Bank and Dell International Services.
“Parag’s experience with MNCs and startups is a unique combination,” said Karishma Singh, Founder and CEO of Kult E-Commerce. “MNC experience brings quality benchmarks and startup experience brings the dynamism. Parag comes at a time when the company is closing large inventory financing with banks and institutional lenders. Thus having a CFO as a financial steward was the need of the hour.”
Bringing deep expertise in mergers and acquisitions, corporate development, investor relations, and business transformation, Parag aligns perfectly with Kult’s strategic priorities following its recent $20 million Series A funding round.
“The beauty category has immense potential. Even though there are large players, the market is still at a very nascent stage,” said Parag Gupta. “Kult’s approach through personalization and AI will have a niche carved out for itself, and I am sure it will emerge as a market leader eventually. The team is young and their enthusiasm is commendable. I am very excited and looking forward to working as a team and taking Kult to new heights.”
Parag’s appointment is part of Kult’s broader leadership expansion, joining other recent senior hires including Rishi as Chief Business Officer (formerly with Nykaa, Jabong, and Noon) and Ravish as Head of Marketing. This strengthened management team combines deep expertise in e-commerce, beauty, and technology as Kult continues to revolutionize beauty shopping in India through its technology-first platform.
