YES BANK launches ‘Score Kya Hua’ to drive credit awareness across India

Guwahati: YES BANK has unveiled ‘Score Kya Hua’, a nationwide CSR initiative aimed at empowering Indians with essential credit score literacy—an area that significantly impacts financial aspirations but remains misunderstood by many. Whether it’s a young entrepreneur in Surat aiming to scale his business, a Gen Z professional in Pune applying for her first credit card, or a couple in Lucknow planning their first home purchase, millions across India depend on a three-digit number they barely know: their credit score.

To bridge this knowledge gap, YES BANK has launched a dedicated microsite ScoreKyaHua.bank.in, powered by CRIF High Mark as the knowledge partner. The platform offers free credit score checks, simplified educational content, and step-by-step guidance tailored for both first-time credit seekers and existing borrowers. From understanding how financial behaviour affects credit health to learning how to build or improve a score, the microsite aims to make credit literacy accessible to all.

Commenting on the launch, Prashant Kumar, Managing Director & CEO, YES BANK, said, “We believe that true financial inclusion goes beyond access to credit—it also requires the knowledge to manage it wisely. YES BANK, through its ‘Score Kya Hua’ CSR initiative, is driving a national movement to help every Indian understand what a credit score means and how to improve it. Our aim is to address the existing knowledge gap and expand the pool of creditworthy individuals by promoting responsible credit behaviour. We are trying to contribute towards building a financially confident Bharat by empowering people with the right knowledge and tools to shape their financial future.”

Sharing his perspective, Sachin Seth, Chairman, CRIF High Mark, Regional Managing Director, CRIF India and South Asia, said, “We are excited to join hands with YES BANK as the knowledge partner for ‘Score Kya Hua’ by providing CRIF Credit Score. At CRIF, promoting and nurturing credit awareness is central to our mission because understanding credit and its impact is key to building strong, lasting financial journeys in addition to driving financial inclusion for the economically weaker sections. We aim to share practical insights and tools that enable everyone to take charge of their credit journey with clarity and confidence.”

To simplify credit education further, YES BANK has released four slice-of-life TVCs that weave financial learning into relatable, everyday Indian situations—reinforcing the bank’s vision of an India where financial knowledge is accessible to all, irrespective of geography or background.

The microsite also features blogs, explanatory videos, myth-busters addressing common misconceptions, and an interactive credit simulator that shows how different financial decisions influence credit scores.

As India advances its financial inclusion efforts, ‘Score Kya Hua’ encourages every citizen to take charge of their financial well-being by understanding the power of their credit score. Users can begin their journey by visiting ScoreKyaHua.bank.in.
