Mumbai: Arth by Emcure, the wellness brand founded by Namita Thapar, has launched ‘Fight Against Obesity’, a nationwide social-first awareness campaign aimed at promoting science-backed conversations around obesity and encouraging healthier lifestyle choices.
The initiative comes amid growing concerns over obesity in India and seeks to shift public discourse from stigma and judgement to education, awareness and inspiration. Through the campaign, Arth by Emcure will collaborate with leading doctors, health experts and fitness enthusiasts to simplify conversations around obesity, nutrition, metabolism and sustainable weight management.
As part of the initiative, Namita Thapar will personally interview some of the country’s leading medical experts in a series of bite-sized, 30-second educational videos designed to make health information more engaging and accessible for a wider audience.
The campaign also plans to expand its outreach by creating awareness among school children across India through educational initiatives. It will culminate in an annual conference and awards programme focused on recognising efforts in obesity awareness and promoting healthier communities.

Commenting on the initiative, Namita Thapar, Founder, Arth by Emcure, said, “Obesity is a global challenge, and Arth is committed to this cause. I am personally interviewing top doctors of the country so we can educate and make a difference. The nice part is that the education will be through 30 sec videos, making it fun and not preachy.”
The campaign is supported by Arth’s Bitter Drops, a pre-meal supplement formulated with 14 natural bitter herbs that is designed to support weight management by helping reduce food cravings.
According to the company, the initiative has been launched against the backdrop of rising obesity levels in the country. Citing the National Family Health Survey (NFHS-6), Arth by Emcure noted that approximately 30% of women and 27% of men in India are overweight or obese. Beyond its physical health implications, the company highlighted that obesity can also impact confidence, relationships, career opportunities and overall quality of life.
With ‘Fight Against Obesity’, Arth by Emcure aims to build a sustained movement around preventive healthcare by leveraging expert-led digital content, public education and community engagement to encourage informed, healthier lifestyle choices.
