Toyota India’s Brand Ambassador DRUM TAO concludes high-energy India tour

Bangalore: Renowned Japanese percussion ensemble DRUM TAO, brand ambassador for Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM), has successfully concluded its extensive India tour, delivering powerful performances that blended rhythm, energy and cultural expression across the country.

The tour began with a vibrant showcase at the Cherry Blossom Festival in Shillong and the Hornbill Music Festival in Kohima, before travelling through multiple cities including Vijayawada, Chennai, Delhi, Jaipur, Kolkata, Guwahati, Varanasi, Mumbai, Pune, and the Andaman Islands, culminating in a memorable finale in Bangalore.

Spanning 40 days and 15 performances, DRUM TAO’s India tour celebrated the artistic bond and long-standing cultural ties between India and Japan. Known for its commanding taiko drumming, flawless synchronisation and visually striking stagecraft, the ensemble captivated close to 70,000 audiences nationwide, generating strong engagement and buzz across regions and age groups.

Drawing from its Japanese heritage and deep-rooted commitment to India, the collaboration reflects shared values of harmony, innovation and inclusivity that transcend borders and generations.

Founded in Oita, Japan, in 1993, DRUM TAO has built a formidable global legacy by blending traditional Japanese percussion with contemporary music, athletic movement and striking visual storytelling. The ensemble has performed for over 10 million people worldwide, transforming taiko drumming into a modern performance art form.
