Mumbai: Paints manufacturer Techno Paints and Chemicals has announced the appointment of cricketing legend and Bharat Ratna Sachin Tendulkar as its brand ambassador for a period of three years. The move comes as the company gears up for aggressive expansion plans, including a public listing, domestic footprint growth, and entry into international markets.
With a 25-year presence in the Indian paints industry, Techno Paints has built a strong position across eight states and is now looking to scale its operations nationwide. The association with Tendulkar is expected to strengthen brand recall and support the company’s next phase of growth.
Techno Paints and Chemicals’ Chairman Akuri Srinivas Reddy said, “We are honoured to collaborate with one of World’s most iconic Cricketer and Bharat Ratna, Sachin Tendulkar. We are looking forward to achieving bigger and greater things this year with expansion and IPO, and no one could have been a better ambassador or growth partner for us.”
Earlier in 2023, the company had roped in film actor Mahesh Babu as its brand ambassador for a two-year period, further strengthening its visibility in key regional markets.
Sharing details of its capital market plans, Srinivas Reddy told the media that the company will file its Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP) in 2026-27, with the IPO process expected to be completed within the same financial year. Through the public issue, Techno Paints aims to raise ₹500 crore.
On the financial front, the company reported revenues of ₹210 crore in FY 2024-25 and is projecting ₹450 crore in the current financial year. Srinivas Reddy added that Techno Paints is targeting revenues of ₹2,000 crore by 2029-30, driven by capacity expansion, wider distribution, and entry into new markets.
Highlighting the sector’s growth potential, he noted that the Indian paints industry is currently valued at around ₹90,000 crore and is growing at a rate of 5–9 percent annually. While global per capita paint consumption stands at approximately 15 litres per year, India’s per capita consumption is about 4.5 litres, indicating significant headroom for domestic growth.
Techno Paints manufactures decorative, industrial, and specialty paints, with a strong presence in special texture finishes and construction chemicals. The company offers over 3,000 shades of decorative paints and operates an in-house research and development centre in Hyderabad, along with a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility at Pashamylaram near the city.
At present, the company operates in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Delhi, Odisha, and Chandigarh. It plans to expand into five additional states—Himachal Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, West Bengal, and Uttar Pradesh—by the end of this year. Looking beyond India, Techno Paints has also decided to enter the Middle East market in 2026-27, marking its first international expansion.
