Mumbai: Anamika Mehta, Chief Growth Officer at IPG Mediabrands India, has exited the organisation amid restructuring following Omnicom Group’s acquisition of Interpublic Group (IPG), according to sources familiar with the development. Her departure marks the first senior leadership exit in India from the IPG ecosystem after the landmark global merger.
Mehta is understood to have moved on earlier this month, though details regarding her next professional assignment are yet to be confirmed. A highly respected and long-standing leader within IPG Mediabrands, her exit signals the beginning of leadership transitions in the Indian market as Omnicom integrates IPG’s operations.
Widely regarded as a key pillar of IPG Mediabrands’ India leadership, Mehta was among the most senior executives in the organisation and, at one point, considered second only to Shashi Sinha in the hierarchy. Sinha, who led IPG Mediabrands India since its inception, has since transitioned into an advisory role within Omnicom Media following the merger.
A loyalist to the IPG network, Mehta spent close to three decades with the group. She began her career at Lintas before moving on to UM Lodestar and Initiative. Over the years, she held several leadership roles, including CEO of Initiative and Chief Operating Officer at Lodestar. Since IPG Mediabrands’ formal entry into India in 2012, Mehta played a pivotal role in building and scaling the group’s media operations and strengthening its market presence.
Her exit comes at a time of broader leadership churn across IPG’s global network, as the Omnicom–IPG integration gathers momentum. In recent months, several senior executives across markets have exited the organisation, reflecting the structural and strategic realignments underway as the merged entity reshapes its leadership and operating model.
