Mumbai: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has announced the appointment of Goutham Reddy Mereddy, Vice Chairman of Re Sustainability Limited (formerly Ramky Enviro Engineers Limited), as the Chairman of CII Telangana for the 2026–27 term. Alongside him, Gaurav Maheshwari, Group President – Asia Pacific at Signode, has been elected as the Vice Chairman.
Mereddy brings over 27 years of experience across environmental services, waste management, infrastructure, and real estate development. He began his career as an environmental scientist at the Environment Protection Training and Research Institute (EPTRI), where he worked on research and consulting projects focused on environmental improvement, particularly in the areas of industrial hazardous waste and municipal solid waste management.
He later joined Ramky Enviro Engineers Limited, which has since evolved into Re Sustainability Limited, where he played a key role in expanding the organisation’s footprint in environmental and waste management services. Today, the company operates more than 85 facilities across over 23 states in India and around 10 countries globally, making it one of Asia’s largest environmental services and waste management companies.
Under Mereddy’s leadership, the company currently handles more than seven million tonnes of waste annually and has emerged as a pioneer in areas such as biomedical waste management, hazardous waste management, municipal solid waste, and construction and demolition waste management. The organisation has also established some of the largest integrated waste-to-energy plants, converting over a million tonnes of waste into nearly 100 MW of power, while also contributing to infrastructure and real estate development initiatives.
Meanwhile, Gaurav Maheshwari brings more than 30 years of cross-functional experience spanning finance, commercial operations, and general management. A Chartered Accountant by profession, he has spent over 25 years with Signode, playing a significant role in strengthening the organisation’s operational and strategic capabilities.
Throughout his tenure, Maheshwari has been instrumental in driving best practices across mergers and acquisitions, cost optimisation, supply chain efficiency, technology-led transformation, organisational restructuring, and simplification initiatives. Before assuming his current role, he led the commercial function for Signode India, where he delivered consistent business growth through strategic execution.
In January 2021, he took on the role of Group President – Asia Pacific, where he provides strategic direction and oversees Signode’s operations across multiple countries in the region. Known for leveraging his strong financial expertise to drive enterprise-wide outcomes, Maheshwari focuses on long-term value creation and operational excellence.
A strong proponent of sustainability and responsible business practices, Maheshwari’s leadership philosophy emphasises trust, transparency, and empowerment, fostering a culture that encourages ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement across the organisation.
