Mumbai: India Gate has unveiled its latest campaign #AuthenticTasteWithIndiaGate, celebrating the rich culinary legacy of authentic biryani through a storytelling-led film conceptualised by Ogilvy India.
Biryani has long been an integral part of India’s culinary heritage, shaped by generations of legendary khaansamas whose recipes evolved into timeless traditions. Their craft transformed the dish into a sensory experience defined by aromatic rice, layered flavours and a distinctive authentic taste.
The new campaign brings this legacy to life through a quirky narrative set in medieval India. The film unfolds in a royal court where a mischievous khaansama repeatedly irritates the king and his guards with his antics. However, each time the king is ready to punish him, the unforgettable taste of the khaansama’s biryani makes him reconsider, reinforcing the idea that when biryani is truly authentic, it becomes impossible to resist.

“When biryani is truly authentic, even a Mughal emperor might overlook a few royal blunders. That playful thought became the heart of this campaign,” said Sujoy Roy, CCO, Ogilvy.
While the narrative pays homage to the centuries-old craftsmanship behind traditional biryani, the campaign also introduces a contemporary solution for modern kitchens with the launch of India Gate Classic Biryani Masala. The product is designed to simplify the cooking process without compromising on the authentic taste associated with the dish.
The masala features a carefully crafted premix gravy base along with a separate pouch of aromatic seasoning, allowing consumers to recreate the layered richness of authentic biryani at home.
