FatakPay Extends Academic Support to nearly 500 Rural Students in Shahapur Through Shiksha Vikas
Share Share ShareShare

Mumbai: Fatak Pay initiated a Seva Sahyog Foundation, Shiksha Vikas initiative with a meaningful step towards supporting rural education. The initiative focused on providing essential books and study material to nearly 500 students studying in Zilla Parishad (ZP) schools across Shahapur, helping them prepare for scholarship exams.

Every year, several rural students discontinue their education not due to lack of interest, but because their families are unable to afford the required textbooks for the new academic year. This challenge is particularly critical for students in the 4th, 7th, 9th 10th standards, where the cost of education often becomes a barrier to continuing school. Through Shiksha Vikas, Fatak Pay aimed to directly address this issue by ensuring that students receive adequate support via key exam book, Sarav Exam before the academic year begins, reducing the risk of dropouts.

Under the initiative, the books will be distributed to 328 students in the 4th standard and 118 students in the 7th standard, including subject books and exam preparation material. Additionally, nearly 100 students in the 10th standard received full sets of textbooks covering all nine subjects and Navneet reference guides to support their preparation for examinations. The focus on 10th standard students is especially significant, as this stage plays a crucial role in shaping their academic and career paths.

Shiksha Vikas Programme also supports three core Sustainable Goals of United Nations Development Programme – No Poverty, Quality Education, and Reduced Inequalities. By giving scholarships to rural students, FatakPay aims at supporting inclusivity in education for all students.

This initiative builds on Fatak Pay’s earlier effort conducted on 20th February 2025, which involved distributing school kits and basic supplies. While the earlier drive enabled students to attend school, Shiksha Vikas ensures they are equipped to continue learning and remain in the education system.

Speaking about the initiative, Abhishek Gandhi, Co Founder Fatakpay said, “The first step was helping students reach school. This initiative is about helping them stay. When students have their books from the start, it gives them confidence and a reason to continue their education.”

The timing of the initiative was intentional, symbolizing new beginnings and hope. By carrying out Shiksha Vikas on this day, Fatak Pay aimed to give students a strong and positive start to their academic year.

Fatak Pay plans to continue expanding this initiative in the coming years by reaching more schools across Shahapur taluka, introducing additional academic support for Board-level students, and collaborating with local partners to widen its impact.
