Mumbai: Tourism New Zealand has announced the appointment of Tishtar Parakh as Country Manager for India. Based in Mumbai, she will lead the organisation’s efforts to drive visitor demand from the Indian market while strengthening trade and industry partnerships.
In her new role, Parakh will be responsible for advancing Tourism New Zealand’s strategic initiatives in India, with a focus on enhancing market engagement and expanding collaborations with key stakeholders across the travel ecosystem.
Prior to this, Parakh served as Travel Trade Lead at VisitBritain, where she co-led destination marketing initiatives across both trade and consumer segments in India. During her tenure, she spearheaded strategic campaigns, trade partnerships, and industry events aimed at boosting visitor numbers and increasing tourism spend from the Indian market.
Tourism continues to play a vital role in New Zealand’s economy, ranking as its second-largest export earner. India has emerged as a key growth market within the country’s tourism strategy, offering significant long-term potential.
As evolving travel preferences among Indian consumers increasingly favour authentic and immersive experiences, Parakh is expected to work closely with travel trade partners, airlines, and industry stakeholders to position New Zealand as a preferred destination and drive higher inbound tourism from India.
