Mumbai: Global communications firm Burson has appointed Munavar Attaari as its Chief Client Officer, reinforcing its senior leadership team as it sharpens focus on client engagement and integrated growth strategies.
Attaari joins Burson from Edelman, where he served as Senior Vice President/Director. With over two decades of experience in communications and public relations, he brings extensive expertise in managing global multinational clients, driving P&L growth, and advising CXOs on complex business and reputation challenges.
In his new role, Attaari will lead client engagement across the firm, drive growth across mandates, and provide senior counsel on integrated communications strategies spanning multiple markets. His appointment comes at a time when agencies are increasingly being called upon to deliver unified, cross-market solutions that blend reputation management with business outcomes.
Over the course of his career, Attaari has built a strong track record in developing and executing engagement strategies for both B2B and B2C clients across sectors such as IT, healthcare, consumer, hospitality, philanthropy, and heavy industries.
Prior to Edelman, he held leadership roles at FleishmanHillard, where he served as Managing Director for India between 2020 and 2024. In this capacity, he oversaw the firm’s India P&L across three offices, led new business development, and managed senior client relationships. He also served as a whole-time director at Omnicom Group’s India Marketing Advisory Services arm, handling governance, compliance, and financial reporting.
Earlier in his career, Attaari worked with firms including Weber Shandwick, Blue Star Infotech, and Adfactors PR, building expertise across strategic communications, crisis management, and corporate reputation.
