New Delhi: Johnson’s Baby, the world’s No.1 baby and childcare brand, has expanded its baby skincare portfolio with the launch of its new Milk & Rice Range, introducing what it describes as the world’s first ‘Food for Skin Ritual’ for babies.
The launch event, held in Mumbai, featured actor and brand ambassador Parineeti Chopra and brought together 30 mothers and their babies in a symbolic ceremony celebrating a baby’s first skincare ritual.
The initiative, titled ‘Poshan ka Pehla Sparsh’, draws inspiration from the traditional Indian Annaprashan ceremony, which marks a baby’s first intake of solid food. Reimagining the cultural milestone through the lens of skincare, Johnson’s Baby introduced the concept of a ‘Food for Skin Ritual’, highlighting the role of nourishment in caring for a baby’s delicate skin from the very beginning.
The new range is inspired by milk and rice—ingredients long associated with nourishment, comfort, and gentle care in Indian households. By incorporating the goodness of milk proteins and rice extracts into skincare formulations, the brand aims to provide nourishment while helping maintain the natural softness and health of newborn skin.

Speaking about the portfolio expansion, Dr. Dilip Tripathi, Head of Baby & Women’s Health, Research & Development, Kenvue, said, “Parents today are far more conscious about the choices they make for their babies and are actively looking for products that combine trusted ingredients with proven safety and care. With the Milk & Rice range, we want to bring together the goodness of ingredients like milk and rice that families have trusted for generations with formulations that are gentle, nourishing, and backed by science. ‘Food for Skin Ritual’ is our way of celebrating a baby’s very first skincare ritual and turning it into a meaningful moment of love, protection, and Johnson’s care you can trust.”
The launch comes amid growing demand among Indian parents for ingredient-led babycare products that combine familiarity, safety, and scientific validation. Industry trends indicate increasing interest in clinically tested formulations inspired by traditionally trusted ingredients, particularly among millennial and first-time parents seeking preventive and specialised skincare solutions for infants.
Sharing her experience at the launch, Parineeti Chopra, brand ambassador, new mother and Bollywood actress, said, “As a new mother, I have realized that every ‘first’ in a baby’s life becomes a cherished memory. While we often celebrate milestones like a baby’s first words or first food, I have also come to understand how important early skincare is, because a baby’s skin is incredibly delicate and needs gentle nourishment from the very beginning. What I truly loved about Johnson’s Baby’s ‘Food for Skin’ philosophy is how beautifully it draws inspiration from trusted ingredients like Milk and Rice, ingredients we naturally associate with care and nourishment. I am delighted to be a part of this thoughtful initiative that transforms baby skincare into an emotional and culturally rooted celebration through the unique Food for Skin Ritual.”
The newly launched portfolio includes Johnson’s Baby Nourishing Milk Soap, Nourishing Milk & Rice Wash and Shampoo, Nourishing Milk & Rice Lotion, and Nourishing Milk & Rice Face & Body Cream. The products are designed to provide up to 24-hour moisturisation while helping support and protect a newborn’s delicate skin barrier.
According to the company, the formulations are clinically proven mild, hypoallergenic, pH-balanced, and free from added parabens, sulfates, phthalates, and dyes. Developed with insights from paediatricians and dermatologists, the cleansers are also designed to remove up to 99.9% of germs while helping maintain the skin’s natural moisture balance.
With a heritage spanning more than 130 years, Johnson’s Baby continues to invest in research focused on the unique needs of baby skin, hair, and eyes. The launch of the Milk & Rice range reflects the brand’s ongoing commitment to delivering gentle, science-backed babycare solutions that address the evolving preferences of modern parents while drawing inspiration from trusted traditions.
