Mumbai: Amazon Music has launched Amazon Music Unlimited in India, introducing a new premium subscription tier that offers high-definition audio, spatial sound, offline downloads, and ad-free listening. The move expands Amazon Music’s offerings in the country to three distinct tiers—Unlimited, Prime, and Free—giving users more flexibility in how they consume music and podcasts.
With the launch, Amazon Music aims to cater to a broader spectrum of listeners, from premium audio enthusiasts seeking the highest-quality experience to Prime members looking for on-demand access bundled with their subscriptions.
Amazon Music Unlimited provides access to more than 100 million songs and top podcasts on demand, along with HD, Ultra HD, and Spatial Audio formats, including Dolby Atmos. The service also includes offline downloads and uninterrupted, ad-free listening.
The premium tier is priced at ₹99 per month for Prime members and ₹119 per month for non-Prime subscribers.
As part of the launch offer, Prime members can access Amazon Music Unlimited free for six months, while non-Prime users are eligible for a three-month free trial. Following the trial period, subscribers will be charged according to their respective plans.
Amazon Music’s existing Prime tier will continue to provide full on-demand access to a catalog of more than 100 million songs and popular podcasts at no additional cost to Prime members. However, the service will now include limited advertisements and will not support offline downloads.
The company also announced that Amazon Music Free will be launched in India soon. The upcoming ad-supported tier will provide access to the platform’s full music catalog with limited features, allowing users to stream music at no cost.
The introduction of Amazon Music Unlimited comes as competition intensifies within India’s digital audio streaming market, where platforms are increasingly focusing on differentiated experiences such as high-fidelity audio, exclusive content, and personalized recommendations to attract subscribers.
By adding a premium listening tier and maintaining both bundled and free options, Amazon Music is seeking to strengthen its position across multiple listener segments while offering users greater choice and flexibility.
Customers can access Amazon Music Unlimited through the Amazon Music app and begin their free trial immediately, depending on their Prime membership status.
