New Delhi: Axis Max Life Insurance Ltd. (formerly Max Life Insurance Company Ltd.) has announced the appointment of Mrinal Sinha as its Chief People Officer (CPO), effective July 1, 2026. He succeeds Shailesh Singh, who will retire after a distinguished career spanning more than three and a half decades.
The leadership transition comes as Axis Max Life sharpens its focus on building a future-ready workforce, strengthening leadership capabilities and accelerating digital transformation across the organization.
During his 15-year tenure at Axis Max Life, Shailesh Singh played a central role in shaping the company’s people and culture agenda. He led the enterprise talent strategy and institutionalized the Organization and Talent Review (OTR) framework, strengthening leadership succession and capability development across the business.
Under his leadership, Axis Max Life received multiple workplace recognitions, including being named among India’s Top 100 Best Companies to Work For in 2025, among the Top 25 Best Workplaces in BFSI in 2025, and receiving the Laureate recognition from Great Place To Work® Institute in 2024.
Currently serving as Head–HR at Axis Max Life, Mrinal Sinha oversees all HR functions across distribution and non-distribution businesses, Centres of Excellence, and Learning and Development. He brings more than two decades of experience across human resources and organisational transformation, with prior leadership roles at Kotak Mahindra Bank, ICICI Bank, Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance, and an earlier stint with Max Life Insurance.
In his new role as Chief People Officer, Sinha will lead the company’s people strategy with a focus on developing a digitally fluent workforce, strengthening leadership pipelines, and fostering a more agile and technology-enabled organizational culture.
